This is the one reference group where we will not take a piece on inspection alone. A Richard Mille comes to us with its papers and its history or it does not come to us. If you are offered one anywhere without a traceable file, that is the answer.

What we check: the case, which is three parts and around thirty screws, all of which have to be right; the skeleton movement, which is the hardest thing in watchmaking to copy convincingly and the fastest thing to read once you know what you are looking at; the serial on the case band, against the papers; and the strap and clasp. An independent watchmaker signs it off.

Every piece on this site carries its reference, its year, its condition and its full accompanying file.
